Seven Areas of Responsibility
  1. Involving and motivating other board members and volunteers in the cultivation and solicitation of gifts.
  2. Ensuring that the case for support is strong, current, and based on the ministry’s mission and goals.
  3. Helping to develop strategies for involvement and cultivation of major gift prospects.
  4. Providing information on environmental factors affecting fundraising among the organization’s constituencies.
  5. Helping to evaluate potential prospects for increased contributions.
  6. Helping to develop expectations for financial contributions from the board, and providing leadership by making their own gifts.
  7. Participating actively in special events and providing leadership for capital campaigns.
 
Operational Focus
  • Replaces the need for an external fundraising resource other than periodic consultants
  • Ensures effective fundraising
  • Ensures conveyance of fundraising responsibilities to board members
  • Evaluation of the board member’s role in fundraising
  • Helps the board communicate the vision of Go To Nations
  • Assists the president in fund raising activities through the vice-president of mobilization
